Baby Doll Dresses in Missy Size Clothing
A closer look into any retail store will see a variety of fashions and styles. Women’s apparel is hot! As a shopper, I know I like just window browsing, and on occasion, choose a nice outfit to fit into my already cluttered wardrobe. Shopping is a lot of fun, and finding hot new styles is definitely the highlight of my shopping experience.
On a recent journey to my local clothing boutique, I discovered a nice collage of baby doll dresses that were simply marvelous. The colors, the styles, the designs, and oh yes, the sexiness factor sure made those baby doll dresses appealing. How could anything so darn adorable get a name like “baby doll dress”?
After a bit of research via my handy computer, I discovered a few interesting facts. Baby doll dresses weren’t always for day wear, nor was it made with the adult in mind.
Baby doll dresses were originally designed for children. The young ones still in diapers would wear a baby doll dress, male and female, to give easy access to the rear area for quick changes. As the child matured, the baby doll dress was worn to make it easier for the child to do his or her business without unraveling layers of bulky clothing minimizing accidents.
The baby doll dress is a sort of like an empire dress… only a little bit short. Usually, the baby doll dress falls about mid-thigh. However, this is just a general guideline. The waistline on those beautiful baby doll dresses are above the normal waist. Usually, the waistline on a baby doll dress is slightly under the bust area.
Only a decade of so ago, those baby doll dresses were solely used as nightgowns or pajamas. Often, they would closely resemble negligee, and today, many negligees are still being styled in the baby doll fashion. Usually, these nighttime baby doll dresses were accented with a bit of lace or other frill.
Baby doll dresses are definitely hot – no doubt about it. There are so many styles of baby doll dresses that I would never know where to start in choosing just one. But why stop at one!
On my journey, I did find that there are plus size, missy size, and even junior size baby doll dresses meaning they come in all shapes and sizes. However, these are definitely for the woman who have a bit of cleavage, and one benefit to this hot new style is that it offers the opportunity to conceal a less than perfect abdomen area.
