As I stated in a previous entry, my father was fond of telling me, “Stephanie, choose your battles well.” Of course, as a teenager, my preferred battles were over which shoes to wear and where to go that Friday night – on a date or cruising the strip in Tyler, Texas.

As I aged, I learned exactly what my father meant – choose your battles well. Plus Size Designer Fashions

I battle with self-perception. Of course, a lot of full figured woman do battle with self-perception, self-appreciation, and self-acceptance. The plus size clothing I choose to wear is all an extension of my personal battles.

Not too long ago I chose to stop fighting this battle of the bulge. No, this does not mean I will not watch what I eat or try to remember to get some exercise that day, but I do accept myself regardless of my size, weight, or physical appearance.

My plus size clothing is the extension of my person feelings, likes, and dislikes. The battle I am fighting is not which size to wear anymore, but what styles and fashions I want to wear.

The wonderful thing about plus size clothing these days is that there are so many trendy plus size clothing fashions.

There is something for me; there is something for you. There is something that screams, “This is not a battle you have to fight!”

Plus size clothing is a lot more accepting and appealing than ever before. The battles I fight with myself are complicated enough without having to fight with the plus size clothing I am going to, or not going to, wear.

With all these styles and options, I get to choose what I like, and what makes me feel awesome. Just because I am a full figured woman does not mean I have to mope around feeling depressed or sorry for myself all day everyday. Some days are definitely better than others, but when I have an off day, even that is of my own choosing.

Everyone has battles. What is your battle today?
